Pelican Residential makes an incredible effort to be one with the community in the Washington Metropolitan area. We believe that in order to make an impact with Pelican Residential, we must first impact the community in which we serve.
One way our team chooses to embed ourselves within the community is through sponsorships and support for local events. Recently, you may have seen Pelican Residential supporting the Appetite Festival at the Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD. However, every weekend you can find the Pelican Residential team at the Central Farm Markets in Montgomery County as they are sponsors. Through providing vital financial and in-kind support to the farm market programs, we hope to connect with local businesses as well as become vested in the community.
Pelican Residential can also be found at local home shows. We look forward to any opportunity to meet prospective clients, potential partners in the community, and to find local events in which we can participate. You can find us at the following home shows and as sponsors for events during the months of September, October, and November:
September 19-21, 2014: Capitol Home Show
September 20, 2014: Kensington, MD 8k (sponsors)
September 28, 2014: Ellen’s Run in Chevy Chase, MD (sponsors)
October 5, 2014: Takoma Park Street Festival
October 11-12, 2014: Montgomery County Community Home Show
November 8-9, 2014: Metro Cooking D.C. Show
When not at an event around town, Pelican Residential will look for other ways to help the community. After much research, Pelican Residential discovered Rebuilding Together Montgomery County’s (RTMC) Playhouse Project. This project required participants to design and build a playhouse for children to be auctioned at the end of May. Pelican Residential decided that this was a perfect way to help the community and do what they do best: design, build, and make people happy.
The team created a beach themed playhouse that was selected by RTMC to donate to The Arc in Montgomery County, an organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The playhouse’s appropriateness for children with and without disabilities made it the perfect choice for The Arc. After much anticipation over the summer, the playhouse was finally placed at The Arc on August, 19, for children to play with and enjoy. Pelican Residential was thrilled to be included in the Dedication Ceremony for the playhouse.
Pelican Residential looks forward to more events and opportunities in which they can participate in the future. Thank you to all who contribute alongside our team in the community!
